Hospitality Branding Project – Home Listening Bar, Peterborough
Brand-Space helped bring Home Listening Bar in Peterborough to life, creating a distinctive interior that reflects its focus on music, community and carefully considered design. The project involved developing the visual character of the space through a combination of environmental graphics, bespoke details and creative interior elements.
Home Listening Bar is a modern take on the traditional pub, bringing together craft beer, cocktails, community and a serious love of music under one roof.
The brief was to completely rethink the existing space and create somewhere that felt distinctive, welcoming and genuinely connected to its purpose. Rather than simply applying a brand to an existing interior, the challenge was to consider the whole experience — from the layout and seating through to the back bar, toilets, signage, artwork and record displays.
The result needed to feel like a place that had evolved naturally rather than a conventional bar that had simply been given a visual identity.
We took a holistic approach to the space, looking at how people would move through, use and experience Home.
The layout was redesigned to create distinct areas within the bar, balancing comfortable social spaces with the more considered atmosphere needed for a listening bar. Seating, furniture and displays were carefully considered alongside the positioning of the bar, records, artwork and other visual features.
The design language draws on vintage listening rooms, record culture and the character of traditional pubs, while avoiding nostalgia for nostalgia's sake. Contemporary branding and bespoke elements were introduced throughout to give the space its own identity.
Every element was considered as part of the bigger picture — not just how it looked, but how it contributed to the atmosphere of Home.
We redesigned the space from the ground up, including the back bar, seating areas, overall layout and toilets, creating a more cohesive experience from the moment customers walk through the door.Alongside the spatial redesign, we developed a collection of bespoke branded and decorative elements, including:
- Custom wallpaper mural
- Custom menus (digital and print)
- Window vinyl
- Bespoke signage and illuminated light boxes
- Custom artwork
- Furniture sourcing
- Artwork display systems
- Dedicated record displays
- Interior features and decorative details
The back bar became a key focal point, while furniture and seating were selected to create a relaxed, comfortable environment that encourages people to stay.
Custom artwork and record displays bring the music element of Home into the physical environment, making the collection and culture surrounding the bar part of the interior rather than simply background decoration.
Signage, window graphics and light boxes provide the practical information customers need while also becoming part of the visual identity of the space.
Even the toilets were treated as part of the overall design rather than an afterthought, ensuring the branding and character of Home continued throughout the customer journey.
The finished space is much more than a branded bar. It is a complete environment built around music, community and atmosphere.
By combining interior design, spatial planning, furniture sourcing, environmental graphics, signage, artwork and brand development, we created a space where every element works together to make Home feel distinctive and considered.
From the back bar to the record displays, from the seating to the smallest pieces of signage, the space has been designed to feel like somewhere with its own story — somewhere you can settle in, listen, talk and stay awhile.
